Alex Fraser Research Forest at Knife Creek
Registration: opens 12:00 noon
Mass start at 1:00 pm
Course closes 3:00 pm

Directions: From 150 Mile House, drive south on Highway 97 for 5 km Turn left onto the Mule Deer Range. (Big Meadow Road opposite Mission Road). Drive 2.6 km up Big Meadow Road to park. Watch for the Orange and White orienteering flags.

Score Orienteering There will be 20 controls (checkpoints) placed in the forest, their locations marked on your map. They range in value from 10 Points (novice/easy) to 50 Points (expert). Walk or run, this event is score Orienteering where you find a few or as many controls as you wish within the time limit of 2 hours.
Classes: Solo, Team (2-3), Family/group
We will be using a different portion of the map from that used at last springs event. It includes some open areas which are gorgeous this time of the year, as well as some forest terrain.

Maps will be provided. A compass is recommended, no other special equipment is required. We recommend you bring a water bottle and dress for walking, hiking or running on trails or in the forest. Printed instructions and an instructor will be available to assist you before you start a course.

This event is suitable for families as well as individuals of all ages. Newcomers are welcome and instruction will be available. For more information just reply to this email.
