Alex Fraser Research Forest at Knife Creek

Registration: opens 12:00 noon

Mass start at 1:00 pm

Course closes 3:00 pm


Directions: From 150 Mile House, drive south on Highway 97 for 5 km Turn left onto the Mule Deer Range. (Big Meadow Road opposite Mission Road). Drive 1.9 km up Big Meadow Road to park. Watch for the Orange and White orienteering flags.


There will be 24 controls placed in the forest, their locations marked

on you rmap. They range in value from 10 Points (novice) to 50 Points

(expert). This event is score Orienteering where you can visit a few or

as many checkpoints as you wish within the time limit of 2 hours. How

many points can you collect?


Maps will be provided. A compass is recommended, no other special

equipment is required. We recommend you bring a water bottle and

mosquito repellent and dress for walking, hiking or running on trails or

in the forest. Printed instructions and an instructor will be available

to assist you before you start a course.

Walk or run. You may orienteer as an individual, with a partner, or go as a group or family.


This event is suitable for families as well as individuals of all ages.
